Using filtered compressed air and vortex tube technology, with no moving parts.
Vortex Coolers provide cooling capacities to 5000 BTUH and maintain NEMA 4, 4X and 12 ratings. They are an affordable, low maintenance, and easy to install alternative for thermal management of electrical cabinets and control panels.
Today's small and compact, multi-function electronic controls, variable speed drives, servos and programmable logic controllers are extremely sensitive to heat and contamination. Excessive heat causes components to "cook", digital displays to misread, controls to drift, and breakers to trip below their rated loads. The result is often lost productivity from machine or line shutdowns.
Fans often provide inadequate cooling and commonly pull in dirty humid air creating another source of failure. Air conditioners require ongoing maintenance and are relatively expensive, large and difficult to install. With no moving parts to wear out, Vortex Coolers use an internal vortex tube to convert factory compressed air into a low pressure, cold air stream that is distributed throughout the cabinet. The chilled air stream creates a slight positive pressure inside the enclosure to prevent dirt or dust from entering - even in the most challenging environments. From small computer cabinets and touch screen control panels to large electrical panel boxes, Vortex Coolers offer efficient and reliable enclosure protection from heat and dirt related shutdowns.
Features and Benefits
Vortex Tubes are an effective, low cost solution to a wide variety of industrial spot and process cooling needs. With no moving parts, a vortex tube spins compressed air to separate the air into cold and hot air streams. While French physicist Georges Ranque is credited with inventing the vortex tube in 1930, Vortec was the first company to develop and apply this phenomenon into practical and effective cooling solutions for industrial use.
How a Vortex Tube Works
Vortex Tubes have a very wide range of application for industrial spot cooling on machines, assembly lines and processes.
Features and Benefits
• Uses only compressed air - no electricity or refrigerants
Cold Air Guns use filtered compressed air (80-100 PSIG) and vortex tube technology to produce sub-zero air for industrial spot cooling. Cold air machining eliminates mist coolants and heat-related parts growth while improving tool life, parts tolerance and surface finish quality.
Cold Air Guns are used in various industrial processes, fabrication,
assembly and packaging as a versatile spot cooling device. Most popular
applications involve cooling during the machining of metals, plastics,
wood, rubber, ceramics and other materials. Cold Air Guns provide
effective cooling for most dry machining operations, allowing increases
in feed rates and extending tool life. With no moving parts to wear
out, the internal vortex tube converts factory compressed air into a
sub-zero air stream, producing temperatures down to as much as
Adjustable Cold Air Gun - Our most popular and versatile model.
Mini Cold Air Gun - Its compact size allows close positioning on grinding operations.
Thread Guard® - Keeps sewing needles cool to reduce breakage and thread burning.
Hot Air Gun - Spot pre-heating (up to 200°+ F) of parts and processes, using no electricity.
Features and Benefits
Vortec's Curtain Transvector® Air Knives efficiently blow-off wide surfaces of debris as well as provide high speed drying for a broad range of industrial applications. Ionizing Curtain Transvectors® add a Static Neutralising Bar to kill static cling and discharge dust and particles for blow-off.
Since Curtain Transvectors are air amplifiers, they use a small amount of compressed air to deliver a powerful, high velocity, laminar sheet of air over wide areas, moving webs, sheets, film, strips, auto bodies and other large assemblies and objects. Our patented design produces increased thrust and velocity, reduced noise, excellent uniformity and significantly outperforms any competing, wide blow-off device. Stainless steel models are ideal for food, pharmaceutical, chemical and other applications where purity, high temperature or corrosive environments are concerned.
Curtain Transvectors, as well as the Ionizing versions, have numerous and diverse processing, finishing, fabrication, assembly, and other industrial uses for cooling, drying, cleaning or static removal on wide surfaces.Curtain Transvectors are used for:
Patented Air Amplifying Design Reduces Compressed Air Consumption
Vortec's patented blow off nozzles and jets are all designed to substantially reduce compressed air consumption, compared to open jets. Using an air amplification principle, the design allows air to accelerate, entraining free surrounding air as it exits. The result is a powerful and precise airflow that consumes less compressed air and saves energy costs.
All air nozzles and jets are not the same. Vortec's Nozzles and Jets amplify airflow volume up to 25 times more than the compressed air supplied. The result is less compressed air usage to deliver the same or greater thrust performance. Perfect for all types of blow off, cooling and drying applications, these Nozzles and Jets are available in a variety of low and high thrust models. Use them to meet OSHA compliance as they meet OSHA specifications for noise and dead-end pressure. Additionally, Vortec Nozzles and Jets deliver a very precise airflow making them ideal for parts movement and ejection.
Our line of DuraBlast™ Lifetime nozzles are the fully cleanable, fully adjustable air nozzles that will never need replacing because of clogging. The design amplifies air to conserve energy and lower costs. Single set screw allows easy cleaning and adjustment of thrust for any blow-off cleaning, cooling or drying application.
Features and Benefits
When you need ultra-fine droplet-sized sprays for evaporative cooling, moisturisation, atomization and humidification, Sprayvectors are the answer. Using compressed air, these liquid atomizing devices create micron and sub-micron sized spray droplets for greater surface coverage than conventional nozzles.
Superior to hydraulic or piezoelectric nozzles, Sprayvectors accelerate air-liquid interaction and produce defined spray patterns that can be widely diffused or highly directed. These unique nozzles introduce low pressure (2-20 PSIG) liquids into large internal passages to eliminate clogging. Three models are available; Atomising or Fogging styles deliver a dense, directed, high velocity spray for viscosities up to 1100 CPS, while the Humidifying model produces a very diffused, low velocity spray for viscosities up to 100 CPS. All styles feature a control knob for precise, fingertip adjustment of liquid flow rates. Water, chemicals, rust inhibitors, cleaners, solvents, preservatives, insecticides, lubricants and a wide diversity of other fluids can be dispensed.
Vortec's Sprayvectors can be used for:
Vortec has introduced the new Dual-Force Vac - a powerful yet economical two-way drum pump. Its all-new, patent pending design offers many unique features. The quiet and safe operation of this air-powered drum pump means no motor burn out and no shock hazard. This high quality, dual mode drum pump is priced at or below other's vacuum-only models.
Using filtered compressed air, the heart of the Dual-Force Vac is
Vortec’s Transvector® air amplifier, which moves a large volume of air
using a lesser amount of compressed air. Electric driven vacuums
frequently experience motor burnout from handling liquids. The
Dual-Force Vac offers both safe and powerful vacuuming of fluids, as
well as instant pump out capability.
